Guest Organist - University of California Los Angeles
The Cathedral is delighted to welcome Eleanor Muhawi as Guest Organist on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 1:00pm
Eleanor Muhawi is a senior at UCLA pursuing a B.A. in Economics and a B.M. in Organ Performance under the tutelage of Christoph Bull. At UCLA, Eleanor has performed in UCLA Woodwind Ensemble, Chorale, Flux Contemporary Music, and faculty composer concerts.
Originally from the Bay Area, Eleanor previously studied with James Welch on organ and with Arleen Pickett on piano. She is a winner of the San Jose Chapter of the American Guild of Organists’ 2017 Frasier Organ Scholarship and of the 2018 San Francisco AGO Young Organists Scholarship. She also participated in the Houston Pipe Organ Encounter Advanced and performed on piano at the state level. After graduation, Eleanor plans to pursue a finance career in Silicon Valley.
