In recognition of the dedicated work of Catholic Health Care Professionals, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and Mission Doctors Association invites all Catholic physicians and medical personnel to the celebration of a White Mass at Cathedral on
Sunday, October 24 at 3:30 PM.
The White Mass is a special celebration to acknowledge the unique contributions made by all Catholic Health Care Professionals, and takes its name from the white coat most commonly worn by those in the medical field.
Relics of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Damien of Molokai will be present during the Mass for these saints' impact on healthcare.
St. Vincent de Paul - was a priest who founded several hospitals and was known to have visited, fed and cared for the sick poor.
St. Damien of Molokai - was a priest who was known for his ministry living among and caring for people who had leprosy.
