Memorial Mass for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI

Archbishop José H. Gomez will celebrate a special memorial Mass for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 12:10 p.m., at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. The local celebration commemorates the life and ministry of the late Pope Emeritus, whose funeral will take place in Rome that day. The Vatican flag has been at half-mast outside of the Cathedral since the Pope Emeritus died on Saturday, December 31.

A second Mass will be held on Monday, January 9th, also at 12:10pm.
