On Saturday November 2nd, we celebrate the Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed, also known as All Souls’ Day. It is a centuries-old tradition in Western Christianity to pray for the faithful departed and for the families who mourn their loss.
We invite you to join us for Holy Mass at 10am. There will be an opportunity for you to light a candle as a prayer offering to God, and in remembrance of family and friends who have gone home to their eternal rest. Following Mass, we will process to the Mausoleum, led in song by the Cathedral Schola, during a time of personal visit with loved ones.
We invite you to lift up in prayer your beloved dead and allow all of us to pray for them as well through our All Souls Book of Remembrance.
We invite you to also honor your deceased loved ones by placing a framed photo of them on the Cathedral’s Dia de los Muertos altar located in the south ambulatory, from October 25, to November 14, 2024. Please do not use any original copies of photos, and the frame must not exceed 5x7 size.
