It is a centuries-old tradition in Western Christianity to observe All Souls’ Day on November 2 by attending Mass, offering prayers and sacrifices, and lighting candles to help ease the suffering of those who have died without having been saved and whose souls are believed to be in purgatory.
On November 2nd, the Cathedral will offer Solemn Vespers at 6:30 PM presided by Fr. Michael Mesa.
On this day, the Mausoleum hours will be extended to 8:00pm.
