World Day of Grandparents - The Cathedral Gift Shop

Pope Francis announced earlier this year that the Church has established a World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly, to be held on the fourth Sunday of July, close to the liturgical memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus and parents of our Blessed Mother Mary. This year, the celebration for seniors will occur on July 25. “Old age is a gift and grandparents are the link between generations, passing on the experience of life and faith to the young,” - Pope Francis.
