Unlike some of the cathedrals of Europe, there
is no charge to enter the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels
and to enjoy its renowned art, architecture and music.
The Cathedral truly
belongs to everyone because the whole community contributes to its
ongoing success, whether financially or through friendship. The
Cathedral was built solely with funding from private donations; the
parishes within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles were not assessed
for the Cathedral’s construction or its operations. The Cathedral is a
self-sustaining, non-profit organization and does not receive regular
funding from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for operating costs.
In the years since the bronze doors opened, the
Cathedral has become the “City’s Cathedral” and
is there for all in times of celebration and sorrow. Please
support the Cathedral generously and be a part of welcoming the world
to this house of prayer for all peoples.
